Marfleet Primary School – Admissions Information

On 1st October 2017 Marfleet Primary School became part of Ebor Academy Trust.  The Trust has a number of schools in various different Local Authorities.  Ebor Academy Trust has a Statutory Ebor Admissions Policy that states that “the Trustees have agreed that all schools within the Trust will follow the policy on admission to school for the Local Authority in which the school belongs”.  A copy of the full Ebor policy is available on request.

Starting School – Admission into Foundation Stage 2

The school has an admission limit of 30 pupils to Foundation Stage 2.   Applications for admission must be made to the Local Authority.  The online application process opens annually from October until January. The school will admit all children with a statement of special educational needs or an Education, Health and Care plan (EHCP) in which the school is named.

Where, after the admission of children with statements of special educational needs or EHCPs naming the school, there are more applications for admission than places remaining available within the admission number, Hull City Council’s School Admissions Arrangements criteria for admission to a community primary school applies.  This is detailed on the following pages.

At Marfleet Primary we work with parents to ensure that the transition from pre-school to school runs as smoothly as possible.  We invite the parents/carers and children to our transition events.  We also arrange for our staff to visit you at home to discuss your child on a more personal basis.

Admission into Foundation Stage 1

Children may be admitted to the nursery at the start of the term following their third birthday, providing there are spaces. Applications to go on the waiting list should be made in person via the school office.

In-Year Admissions

All applications for in-year admissions must be made to the Local Authority via their online portal.  The link to the council’s admissions page is at the top of the website.   The contact number at the council for any queries is 01482 300300.
