Achievement and Assessment

Achievement at Marfleet Primary Academy is a testament to the hard work of our children and the relentless dedication of our staff. We are incredibly proud that our latest results in 2025 place us significantly above both local and national averages, with 75% of our Year 6 pupils meeting the expected standard in Reading, Writing, and Maths combined—surpassing the national average of 62%

While we celebrate these academic successes, our true achievement lies in the progress of every individual, ensuring that all children, regardless of their starting point, leave Marfleet as confident, articulate, and high-achieving learners ready for their next chapter.

The school has recently been recognised by the Department for Education for its outcomes for disadvantaged pupils. The schools performance places it among the very best nationally.

Assessment

In line with the National Curriculum, assessment at Marfleet Primary Academy is used with purpose and precision. We focus on the ‘impact’ of our teaching; using formative assessment to check for understanding in the moment and summative milestones to track progress over time. Our data-driven approach ensures that we identify gaps in knowledge early, allowing for rapid intervention and ensuring that all pupils—including those eligible for Pupil Premium and those with SEND—make sustained progress from their unique starting points.
