At Marfleet Primary Academy, we value art and design as part of the children’s entitlement to a broad and balanced curriculum. Our curriculum is carefully planned to enable the children to develop and progress their skills, whilst giving them the opportunity to share their individual flair and creativity through their own ideas. Each unit has four sections building to create their final piece. They will begin by investigating an artist, have a chance to practise their skills, work on their final piece, and finally evaluate what they have created. Children will build on their skills each year and leave year 6 with a vast array of art skills. The ultimate intent of art at Marfleet Primary Academy is to enjoy what they are doing, get a little messy and learn skills along the way.
