Engineering at Marfleet
Thank you to the engineers and parents that came to volunteer with the Leaders STEM award 2018 at Marfleet Primary School.
The children had an amazing time exploring the world of engineering, interviewing engineers and utilising their problem solving and artistic potential.
We were fortunate to have visits from several engineers; one of whom brought a cherry picker that he had designed, made and now sells. See some of the pictures above from the cherry picker!
By showing his journey through planning and hard work, the children were opened up to the lengths creativity can stretch to and the uses of engineering in reality.
Each child has designed an invention that has solved a problem in their life – be it at school, home or in the community. These inventions will be sent to the University of Engineering, where they will be judged out of the school, and then nationally. We congratulate the children for all their hard work and await to hear the results!
