Free school meals
To continue to support our families over the Easter holidays the school will continue to issue Free school meal vouchers weekly. If your circumstances have changed due to the current situation and you think you may be eligible please contact the school office or email admin.mar@ebor.academy.
Weekly phone check-ins
Despite being closed the school still has a duty to ensure you and your children are safe and keeping well. In order to do this we will be continuing to conduct our weekly phone ‘check-ins’ with all our families. Please can you make an effort to answer phones or get back to the school at a more convenient time during the week. If no contact is made during a week it is the school policy to conduct home ‘pavement’ visits and if contact still cannot be made the school have an obligation to contact other services to make sure you and your children are safe. The wellbeing of you and your children is paramount, therefore we must continue to work together in this uncertain time.
Easter break
The school will remain open for our ‘Key Worker’ children and our vulnerable children over the Easter break. Teachers will continue to set work for the children but there is no obligation for children to complete it.
Home learning
We know and understand that you will be feeling stressed, overwhelmed and under pressure by everything that’s happening in the world right now. We don’t want you to be overly concerned about the work being sent/put online for your child to complete.
A few things we want you to remember:
You are all doing an amazing job, in what is a very difficult time!
To parent full-time is enough of a job on it’s own, trying to ‘home educate’ on top of this is a huge undertaking!
If you decide that your child isn’t going to engage with anything that has been set or sent home and is going to spend the entire time playing, drawing then that is your choice. There is nothing to stress or feel guilty about.
You are doing enough, you are loving your children and supporting them through this difficult time. Look after yourselves. Minimising stress is absolutely vital at a time like this for your own mental health. Don’t let this be something that adds more stress.
Well done to all the children for the hard work and determination this week!
Thank you to Mrs Bower who suggested we have a virtual assembly celebrating all the children’s fantastic work of the week.
I asked all the teacher to nominate someone in their class, this weeks
